El Fuerte is a colonial town under heritage protection in the stae of Sinaloa and the gateway to the Copper Canyon via rail, horseback or by water, offering great fishing, nature trails and bird-watching.

The rich mosaic of times gone by can be felt around every corner in El Fuerte and numerous festivals throughout the year of old traditions.

"Casa Pascola" is close to the heart of town and only minutes from the train station of the famous Chihuahua el Pacifico Railroad, commonly known as Chepe.

The railroad is an engineering marvel which traverses through the most spectacular scenery in the world, the Copper Canyon (Barranca del Cobre). The train leaves El Fuerte daily two hours after it departs Los Mochis.
